A native San Antonian with degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of the Incarnate Word, Jim loves his home city, especially downtown, Southtown, the missions and the San Antonio River. His current haunts include the scenic plains and rolling hills of North Central Texas, and the exciting growth area of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He is fascinated with the revitalization of the downtown areas, the renaissance of cultural institutions and the urban shift to biking and healthy lifestyles.
In his spare time, Jim enjoys biking urban areas and enjoying arts, culture and brew pubs. Other times, he likes hiking and kayaking to explore the parks and waterways in areas that are less trampled by human development.

Helped double attendance, memberships and participation in all real and virtual activities. Also launched a multi-million dollar capital campaign, the first in 60 years, to expand and update the museum. While also supervising IT and the museum store, I directed all of the Witte’s advertising and public relations efforts for its exhibits and programming. My team was responsible for all internal communications, member publications, branding, fundraising presentations, the website, email communications, and social media. We were very successful at gaining media attention for our efforts and, with limited budgets, developed and produced engaging advertising campaigns without the help of an advertising agency.
